Is there a way to apply the “fx speed” encoder to a fader? I’d like to have a strobe override that increases in speed as the fader travels to 100%. What could I use to achieve this? I’m thinking cue-blender with 100 cues, one cue per % of the fader. Wanted to know if I’m going around my elbow to get to my ass.
your strobe should have at least two channels, one for intensity, one for speed. how to do it:1) select the fixture2) go under intensity on speed/shutter and set it to 100%3) record as override and save override to a fader->now you can control the strobe speed by raising the override fader (override must be active)
if that doesn't work, insert a second cue speed/shutter@0 and change the override to cue blender
if you want to strobe an intensity dimmer, you can use the fx engine:- intensity fx set to a square wave or square ducking,- amount @100% or 200% depending on your base value- in case of square ducking you need to adjust fx "timing -> wait" to a number greater than zero.- record a override cue with slow fx bpm- record a second cue with high fx bpm - use cue blender
You are way overcomplicating this..
Simply set the Strobe at Max speed, record as Override. Set cue Fade Mode, to Fade All
If you need an FX Speed, look at this FAQ post
Simple enough. Now what about the global bpm? Could that be applied to a fader as well, or am I asking the same question twice?
