Last night i went to a show and i decided to update to update M-PC to 3.70. So naturally it asked for a firmware update. I must mention that i have done this before and im more than initate in electronics, microcontrollers and computers. So i proceeded as usual and i had the pdf open, following the steps just in case. I updated all the firmware on the usb devices and then moved on to the IICs. All went ok with no errors, did the power cycle for the M2PC, restarted M-PC, loaded the showfile and started to check faders, buttons etc what i would normally do after updating IICs. Then out of the sudden the small screen started doing some glitches (thing that it did before once in a while when loading a showfile let's say) and randomly sending commands and keys to the software, recording cues with random names etc...very strange. So next i shut down m-pc, shut down the controller, restarted windows and i was going to repeat the above steps but when i turned on the console, the "Last" and the 2nd playback button leds were blinking together and the controls becam unresponsive. The dmx card worked, i can send on both dmx universes but no reponse from the buttons, faders, encoders, small screen...meaning the IICs. So i went forward to the console tester but i only had the dmx card available for testing so i went forward and opened the firmware updater and then the whole thing was clear to me...it only showed the dmx card in the usb devices.
Im running windows 10 without creators update, no midi card, no smpte card. I tried downgrading the firmware on the DMX card and the upgrading back to 3.42 with no success.
Im in a big problem because its not so easy to send it to service support as im in a pretty remote location, working in a venue thats open 7 days per week and the m2pc is the brain for all of this. Is it possible to reflash the iics by myself via the usb port or im in need of a PIC programmer? Is there any way to erase them and rewrite them or anything without sending the unit to service support? The unit is out of warranty...so im willing to try anything. Please advise if you can!
