How to report an issue on this Martin forum or Facebook user groups.
First of all, reporting and explanation of issues should always be posted on the Martin forum first and then a link to that post can be added to the Facebook User groups to get more visibility. Posting on the Martin forum helps keeping track of issues and request, it gives a chance to other user(s) with similar issues to find answer while searching.
Always have a look at the FAQ section first to see if the question or issue wasn’t addressed before.
We all wish to be able to read minds from a distance and figure out what people meant to say or guess, what they forgot to mentioned.... But unfortunately we don't have this super power (yet).
However, we are very good at solving issues when we are given every important information in the first place.
This way we can quickly answer your question or solve your issue.
Here is what should be included in each issue report.
First let us know your environment
-The latest version number of the software, it can be found in the Menu About Example M-PC 3.70.865
Mentioning you use the "Latest version" is useless to us. The last three digits (865 in this example) are the most important one
-If it is a console, What is it? M1, M2GO, M2GO HD, M1 HD, M2PC, M6, M-Touch etc...
-If it's a PC, What is it, Laptop, Desktop, Tablet?
-What Windows Operating system? Windows 7 32 bit, 64 bit , 8.1, 10. You can find the information in Windows System About
Is there any hardware connected to the PC or console that we should be aware of?
(Timecode, DMX-in, Wings etc...)
Then, the issue description
Describe the best way you can how this issue occurred,
Did you get any error messages?
Make a screenshot, you can use Print Screen and open MS Paint, paste the screenshot and save it as PNG.
Tip: The shortcut ALT+PrintScreen will only take the current window instead of the entire desktop
Or you can use the Windows Snipping tool.
Can you repeat the issue? If so, describe all steps to replicate the issue.
Can you make a video of the issue?
If you have a show file to provide us with the steps to repeat the issue, this would help tremendously.
With today cloud system such a Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, iCloud , it is easier to put the show file in the cloud and just share a link with us. If you prefer not to share on the forum, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
By doing this we can reduce the time it take to resolve your issue so you can get back to do what you like the most i.e.: controlling lights!
