Well, what I mean is, let the Intensity and everything else in cues, with or without color; The white color FX override, for instance, in a play button set to Active+flash; Then you use color presets for busking shows.
You have 3 levels of color in your need: the default one, the preset, and the overriding one. This is whats happening :
First, a default cue is running, programmer overrides playbacks, so when you choose color preset it changes to the preset color, when you clear the programmer it retreats to default or value in the cue.
Than you use the override button, because FX overrides actual channel values , no matter it is in programmer or in playback. Then the white FX can perform successfully.
in channels: FX > actual channel
in priority: programmer > playbacks
in different type of cues: override > common cuelists
And there is a priority level to set in a same type of playback and LTP function. With these rules and mix them you can make more than 5 layers of overriding. I am trying color playbacks too, but I think its too early to give up presets now. Sometimes you need different color inside a group too, you will need presets anyway.
Back to the beginning, the key of you question is to use a FX, and use a static FX curve (or make its speed nearly static), or use the method of Mr Felizardo Bojorquez.
