I just replaced the Main CPU in one of our standard Mac Auras and I am trying to load firmware onto it. I am on a Windows 8 laptop (and before you ask, yes, I did put it in Advanced Startup before trying to download). I have tried both versions 1.1 and 1.2. I am able to download the initial .exe setup file, but when I open that and try to actually set up the USB Tools software, the setup file acts like it is downloading and then the USB Tools icon never appears on my Desktop. I've searched through my entire PC to make sure it did not "get sent" anywhere else. It is like the setup manager is doing nothing.
I've restarted multiple times, tried running setup in both Advanced Startup mode and in just regular boot mode. Is it possible that I NEED Windows 7 in order to use USB Tools? The compatibility notes say I should be okay but something is obviously off. Any advice would be much appreciated.
